ABOUT POM
POM Technology was founded in December 1993 to commercialize the POM Concept . The POM Concept is a compact wet-end technology invented, developed and commercialized by Paul Olaf Meinander.
The POMp, a key component of the POM System, was developed from 1992 to 1996. The first industrial pilot installation, comprising four POMp units, was put into service at MD Papier, Albbruck, Germany on May 22nd 1997. In 1999, this plant was rebuilt to incorporate the full POM System.
POM Technology has since been the subject of numerous refinements and improvements. (see Products and Applications) and there are over 60 installations in Europe, North America and Asia (see Reference list).
In 2006 Aikawa Iron Works Co., Ltd, Shizuoka, Japan became the sole owner of POM Technology. Aikawa is a privately-held manufacturer and distributor of paper mill stock preparation and pulp-handling machinery. The Compact Wet End Systems of POM Technology combined with the Approach Flow Screening technologies of the Aikawa Group provide industry with comprehensive, state-of-the-art wet end solutions.
