MacroBar™ cylinder

The AFT MacroBar™ is a novel screen cylinder design that provides increased contaminant removal and more efficient deflaking for coarse screen applications. Its use ensures a cleaner product and more efficient pulp screening system. The AFT MacroBar™ screen cylinder attains excellent coarse screen performance by combining the efficiency of a slotted screen with the robustness of a traditional drilled cylinder.

The AFT MacroBar™ cylinder is equipped with ’breaker bars’ that produce a deflaking effect while directing the debris towards the reject outlet. This reduces energy consumption, and improves the runnability of the screen – especially with debris-rich furnishes. Mills seeking improved runnability, more complete deflaking, increased capacity, reduced energy consumption and cleaner pulp are encouraged to explore the role of this cylinder in their operations.

The AFT MacroBar™ cylinder is available with proprietary AFT Durachrome® protection, the highest quality chrome surfacing in the industry. A prerequisite to extended product life, chrome is evenly distributed by anodes designed specifically for screen cylinders. AFT’s in-house chroming facility and continuing development of superior surface treatments ensures the highest quality chroming and re-chroming services.
