ABOUT US

Pulp screens are used to enhance a slurry of pulp by dividing it into two streams: one containing fibres suitable for papermaking; the other, various oversize contaminants that are not. The goal is simple. The challenge lies in optimizing aperture configuration and other aspects of the complex screening process to efficiently remove contaminants while minimizing the loss of fibre.

We at AFT have been making apertures for more than a hundred years and, over this period, have acquired recognized expertise in machining and fabrication. As well, we have forged close ties with the pulp and paper industry, providing it with customized pulp screening solutions for all types of stock preparation and papermaking applications.

We are dedicated to providing the industry with advanced pulp screen components and optimized systems. We achieve this by collaborating with our customers to reduce their costs and improve product quality through modest investments in our wide range of screening equipment and value-added services.

We have manufacturing facilities in America, Asia and Europe; specifically, in:

  • Sherbrooke, Quebec, CANADA. Established in 1903.
  • Varkaus, FINLAND, where the manufacture of pulp-screen components dates from 1945.
  • Incheon, SOUTH KOREA. Established in 1984.

AFT was purchased by Aikawa Iron Works Co. Ltd. in 2006 and became part of Aikawa Group.
