The Aikawa Group

Founded in 1924 by Shigekichi Aikawa as a foundry company, Aikawa is a privately-held manufacturer and distributor of stock preparation, approach flow, and pulphandling systems, as well as Performance Components such as screen cylinders, rotors, and refiner plates.

Through Aikawa's “Ever Forward” philosophy and its investment in research and development, our company  established a dominant market presence in Japan. Our headquarters, R&D center, and main manufacturing facilities are located in Shizouka, Japan.

In 1954, we introduced the “Super Refiner,” the first domestic continuous refining equipment for paper stock – and the machine created exponential growth of the paper industry in Japan. 

Our growth into the Aikawa Group took shape in 2006, when we acquired Advanced Fiber Technologies (AFT), FINEBAR, and POM Technology. Through these acquisitions, the Group provides a wide range of equipment and processes.  Applications include everything from the handling of bales at a recycling plant to paper machine wet-end systems. All Aikawa Group companies share a strong commitment to research and development, and to providing an ever-improving level of customer service.
