TRADE PRESS EDITORS VISIT VARKAUS FACILITY. AFT welcomed editors from global Pulp & Paper trade media to the Varkaus facility in Finland. The principal focus in Varkausis on the manufacture of high-performance components such as screen cylinders, rotors, and refiner plates. Petri Tuomela, AFT's General Manager of Manufacturing, greeted the editors and remarked "Everything we do has a strong scientific and applications basis. This includes our manufacturing technologies, which are state-of-the-art in this industry. They result in proven solutions for fiber processing and stock preparation."
MACROFLOW2 SETS NEW STANDARDS FOR ACCURACY AND PRECISION. MacroFlow2 delivers slot accuracy and precision which translates into a big boost in screenroom performance. The advances in precision industrial lasers, robotic insertion devices, and other manufacturing techniques now make it possible for AFT to achieve design goals for accuracy, precision, and mechanical strength. It has been demonstrated that the precision manufacturing of the MacroFlow2 - ensuring less variation in slot width - results in a 5% boost in screening efficiency and a capacity increase of 10% compared to other cylinders.
POM TECHNOLOGY MERGED INTO AFT. The legal entity POM Technology Oy in Finland was merged into Aikawa Fiber Technologies Oy (AFT). Aikawa has built a reputation through the acquisition of specialist companies such as AFT, Finebar, and POM. Now, all the companies are organized under a single brand to provide customers with alternatives to the packaged offerings of the "Big Box" major suppliers. Customers prefer the freedom to select the best single equipment and can rely on AFT's expertise to put systems together when required.
